An alternative (and occasional) music posting highlighting something out of the ordinary. Perhaps of limited appeal, unconventional, experimental or just far-out ! Call it what you like (or switch it off, if you don't like).

Saw these guys last month and a brilliant evening was had by all. The 'Transatlantic Sessions', funded by BBC Scotland, BBC4 & RTE of Ireland, have been bringing musicians together for the last 25 years in live performances by various leading folk, bluegrass and country musicians from both sides of the North Atlantic, playing music from Scotland, Ireland, England and North America.
Here we have (in order of appearance):- Jerry Douglas: lap steel guitar, John Doyle: left hand guitarist, Aly Bain: fiddle, John McCusker: fiddle, Donald Shaw: piano, Mike McGoldrick: flute, Donal Lunny left handed bouzouki, James Mackintosh: Drummer, Phil Cunningham: accordion, and on double bass it looks like Danny Thompson.
For St. Patrick's Day it's 'The Glass of Beer' >
